The Shaktipat series of meditation prints help in channelising energies, Tarun and Celia Cherian tell PERIN ILAVIA.

Tanya Tyagi came to Bangalore to work as a real estate web consultant. From Bihar to Bangalore was by itself a culture shock, which she was trying hard to cope with. The casual work environment was something new to her. Yet she wanted to prove herself, be there and do it all. But she was not quite sure in which direction she was heading. The dreams in which she visualised instances from her day-to-day life were constantly haunting her. Whenever she tried seeking answers for her whimsical experiences, she ended up in a state of confusion, until one fine day she met Tarun. He not only taught her how to interpret her dreams, but also the art of meditation through prints.

“I learnt over a period of time that it is important to believe in the thoughts that come to your mind, irrespective of whether you visualise them when you are awake or in a state of slumber. It’s a truth, an existing factor, and there’s nothing called ‘imagining it’,” says Tanya. Meditation through the Shaktipat prints has made her much more focused and the ability to interpret her dreams has given her the confidence to move ahead in life.

In today’s world of stress and emotional disturbances, all of us, like Tanya, look for avenues that can channelise the disturbing energies. The five meditation prints called ‘Shaktipat’ brought out by Tarun and Celia Cherian are found to be highly effective in this direction.

Tarun, a creative director with Scion Advertising, is also a painter. Over the years, with people constantly telling him that his paintings emitted an aura, he decided to channelise his art on a concentrated path so as to heal people. Being a spiritual healer herself, his wife Celia’s skills came in handy. “But these prints are not the result of merely a day’s work. After conducting group and one-to-one meditation programmes for a wide spectrum of people, we were able to arrive at five broad categories, which form the basis of the five prints of Shaktipat series,” says Tarun.

With clear instructions, each print of the series is used to handle a specific problem. While ‘Power Swirl’ helps in controlling anger, obsessive thinking, digestion and infections, the ‘Lam Circle’ is believed to quieten an overactive mind and stimulate the Kundalini Shakti, protecting you against psychic attacks.

Correcting the root chakra imbalances, ‘The Hearts Opal’ is said to act on the heart and brighten your emotions.

There are some energies that we are not consciously aware of, like the ‘Ki’ energy. Acting on these energies, the ‘Primal Channel’ is supposed to energise spiritual paths.

Presented in a convenient desktop size, it depends on each individual to use it the way he/ she likes. “Each one has an ideal distance to place the print - be it 10 feet away or at arms length - depending on one’s own comfort,” says Celia.

“Meditation does not mean sitting quietly for several hours. There’s no classical rule to it. Yet, novices cannot do it perfectly. Hence it is important to take the guidance of a trained person at least in the initial stages,” explains Celia. “A five to 30 minute sitting, maybe one to four times a day, or just keeping the print in vision, can help in channelising your energies. It’s not the duration of meditation that is important, but the intensity. However, if you are overdoing it, there could be extraneous effects like nausea and palpitation.”

Tarun adds that the prints are powerful, beautiful, strengthening and liberating, but not a substitute for medication.
